OUR STORY

Sarita’s, meaning little Sarah, was founded by Ruderis Gomez in 2007 as a small buffet in Baton Rouge. This location is no longer open, however we currently have three locations across Louisiana. At age 17, Rudy traveled from El Salvador to the United States through the Mexican border with his 5 siblings. He started his restaurant career washing dishes in Chinese restaurants for just $2 per hour. He quickly worked his way up in a variety of different restaurants and gained experience in different positions from cooking to serving and eventually began managing. After gaining 15 years of experience working in different restaurants, he decided it was time to open his own restaurant. In 2004 Rudy and his brother Alex opened El Magey, a Mexican buffet in Baton Rouge, which is still open today and currently owned and operated by his other brother, Salvador Gomez. Rudy and his Family own a number of businesses across Louisiana and continue to grow within the community.
